THE ROLE
The Migrant Women's Support Program (MWSP) provides specialist domestic and family violence services and support to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women and their children.
The Community Engagement Specialist will engage and consult with CALD communities to build DFV knowledge and support pathways to ensure quality outcomes are achieved for CALD women and their children. With direct contact with individuals, families and key stakeholders in communities and contribute to the development of services responses that build family and community resilience specific to domestic and family violence within a CALD context.
This is a part time position, working 30 hours per week, initially offered on a fixed term basis until June 2026 based at the WSSSA Head Office in Mile End.

ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant must have knowledge and experience working with migrant and refugee communities in relation to domestic & family violence. To succeed in this exciting and demanding role you will also need:
- A Degree in social work is essential with full eligibility for the AASW and the South Australian Social Work Registration Board, and experience commensurate with the position.
- Proven experience working in community development and engagement, particularly with CALD communities and community leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to co-design and deliver culturally appropriate programs and workshops.
- Knowledge and understanding of the impact of immigration, culture, racism, war and intergenerational trauma on CALD people who have experienced DFV;
- Understanding of risk assessment and safety management relating to people experiencing domestic and family violence
- Familiarity with the legal, immigration and social welfare systems and services available to domestic family violence victims.
- A current full drivers licence, and be eligible for, or hold a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
