THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an Aboriginal Family Violence Case Managers based at Ninko Kurtangga Patpangga (Ninko) accommodation site, located in the south.  We have full and part time (0.9FTE) positions available.

Ninko supports Aboriginal families and the Case Manager will be responsible for contributing to alleviating the effects of domestic and family violence experienced by First Nations women and children through the provision of both crisis intervention and case management services.  As well as performing the following duties:

  • Provide quality service responses, informed by a deep understanding of First Nation cultural values and needs
  • Undertake risk assessments & safety planning that promotes the ongoing safety of First Nations women & children
  • Conduct initial assessments, and implement quality case plans in consultation with clients
  • Monitor and review client case plans to ensure ongoing safety
  • Provision of after-hours crisis response to clients of Ninko

 

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this position you will have experience of case management responses & crisis interventions for First Nations people impacted by domestic and family violence or strongly related field.

  • Experience in the provision of case management responses & crisis interventions for First Nations people impacted by domestic and family violence;
  • Solid understanding of risk assessment and safety management as it relates to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage complex caseloads and to negotiate successful outcomes for clients;
  • Knowledge and understanding of social, emotional and wellbeing issues affecting First Nation’s people
  • A deep understanding of First Nations historical factors, culture and past and current impacts of intergenerational trauma
  • A current drivers licence, and be eligible for, or hold a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
